The Wildfoods Festival is gearing up for their 21st Birthday Party next year and so far it’s looking like it will be THE EVENT to be at over the summer.

The 21st Birthday is traditionally a ‘biggie’ as far as birthdays go, and the theme for the 2010 Wildfoods Festival is:                       Bring Your Party to Our Party

Each year there are some amazing costumes and so the festival organisers are rewarding the festival goers by having a best dressed competition.

From Tupperware parties to first birthday parties, black and white parties to vice versa parties, political parties to politically incorrect parties – most people have been to one party or another so get your thinking cap on and come up with your own party theme.

If you dress upyou might scoop up some prizes.

The Wildfoods Festival will kick off with a rock concert in the big marquee on Friday night and then, on Saturday we have another top range of Musicians (yet to be announced) strutting their stuff to thrill the crowd during the festival day as well as loads of new and interesting foods to tickle your taste buds.

To top off the festival day we are having a dance at night as well – so get your glad rags on and join us here in Hokitika for the best festival on the Coast.

Wildfoods   Festival

12th and 13th March  2010

Dear Subscriber,

The Wildfoods Festival was ‘totally, off the hook, awesome’ this year.

We had the lady who came up with the original idea, Claire Bryant, who officially opened the Festival, followed by a stirring speech from His Excellency, Anand Satyanand, New Zealand’s Governor General.

Shortly after that, the gathered audience was thrilled with the Red Checkers doing their best to carve up the sky.

There was plenty of weird and whacky food to be eaten and one of the stalls: ‘Udderly Divine Desserts’ took out three awards on the day with their ‘creation’ of colostrum based foods. Well done girls!!!

The entertainment this year was ‘rock your socks off’ stuff. We have had so many positive comments on the calibre of the bands and solo artists we had to entertain the many assembled and we are already on the way to booking some great entertainment acts for the 2010 Wildfoods Festival.

Andrew McLaughlin, a hard-case Irishman, from Christchurch couldn’t believe it when we rang him to tell him he had won the Photo Competition – he was more than happy to walk away with the $500 first prize though. Check out the website www.wildfoods.co.nz to see all the place getters.

The photo competition was so successful that we are running it again next year – so dust off the Box Brownie and bring it with you.

Which leads me quite nicely into the 2010 theme:
