Westland Business Unit
The Westland Business Unit was established as an autonomous unit of Council in July 2008 to manage, coordinate and lead the marketing of visitor products and services within Westland District.
Activities to be undertaken by the Business Unit are to:
- Market Westland
- Management events in Westland including the Wildfoods Festival.
- Manage and promote the Westland i-Site Visitor Information Centre
- Manage and promote the West Coast Historical Museum
The Business Unit is located in the Council Headquarters, 36 Weld Street, Hokitika. The old library premises has been renovated to house a modern interactive i-Site, the Events Department and Business Unit staff.
The Museum continues to be located in the Carnegie Building complex in Hamilton Street, along with the Art Gallery which is utilised by local artists.
