Jackson Bay Wharf
Jackson Bay Wharf is located 30 kms south of Haast and is owned and maintained by Council, primarily to provide a base for the local and visiting commercial fishermen operating in the area.
In the past few years, there has been a significant increase in the number of recreational boats using the facility, An honesty box was installed in 2009 and a $10 casual use charge was introduced. Regular users can pay an annual fee of $200 per year for unlimited use.
Wharfage fees charged to commercial users are $20 per tonne for wet fish landed and $100 per tonne for crayfish.
